Function Room Music Review

To get your invoice right, it’s important to complete your Music Review.

There are two different licence types for Functions.

  1. Annual licence fee per function space, or
  2. Licence fee per-day rate per function space

If you selected option 1, you do not need to complete a Music Review.

If you selected option 2. per-day rate option on your Functions licence,
completing an annual Music Review is a requirement under the terms and conditions of the OneMusic Licence, and it is your way to ensure your music use is covered.

The OneMusic licence is charged annually and in advance. When you start your licence, we ask you to estimate how many functions you will host in the coming 12 months. Prior to your anniversary each year, we send a Music Review, where you confirm the actual number of functions.

Please keep an accurate record of your number of functions throughout the year.

How and when do I complete a Music Review?

Prior to your anniversary each year, we will email your Music Review – a simple online form that includes a few questions about your music use.

Please keep an accurate record of your number of functions throughout the year.

What happens after my Music Review is complete?

After you submit your Music Review, we will review your submission and update your account. An invoice is then raised for your next licence year. If your actual music use differs from the estimate you provided, an adjustment will be made to the back year.

If you ended up hosting more functions than you estimated at the beginning of the licence period, you will be charged for the additional days for the back year, as well as fees the forward year.

If you ended up hosting less functions than you estimated at the beginning of the licence period, an adjustment is made to the back year.

The number of days you report at the end of each licence period is used as your estimate for the next 12 months.

What information do I need to provide on a Music Review?

You will need to let us know the total number of functions you held in your function spaces over the last 12 months.

What if there is charge for admission, or the performers are paid?

The OneMusic Functions licence does not cover any function where there is a charge for admission, or where performers are paid more than $5,000 (excl. GST). The promoter or event producer will need to obtain the appropriate event licence from both APRA and if sound recordings are used, Recorded Music NZ.

We recommend you sight a copy of the Event Licence/s obtained by the promoter or event producer before the event takes place.

What if my per-date rate is more than the annual licence fee?

If you opted for the per-function option, and the number of events you report on your Music Review is higher than the annual fee, you will automatically be put on the annual fee.
